Gotta be out of here by 3.
(1:58) Hm... Windows file sharing doesn't work? Probably a good thing overall... heh, I'll just fire up ftpd on the Mac.
(2:12) Of course, IE starts the download without telling me that C: doesn't have the space... until it runs out of space 5GB into the transfer. Grrr...
(2:27) Download it to F: which has many many gigabytes. 15 minutes? Not bad.
(2:43) 5...4...3...2...1... "Copying, 15 minutes" WTF?! It just started the transfer over?
(2:45) Out of disk space? Oh right, IE downloads files to a temporary cache before copying the file to wherever you told it to save the file. And that cache would be on... C:. Brillant.
After six years, still not ready for the desktop user. Sock monkeys do a better job with Linux.
...
Oh--so I want to view security ACLs on a bunch of font files that aren't showing up in my account but show up under Administrator. Open font folder, press Alt-Enter to view the aggregate properties and... *bam* 300 windows. Only, not *bam* because the it takes half a second to display each property pane, and each property pane pushes us closer and closer to OOM. Note: Anywhere _else_ in Explorer and you'd get one window for 300 files.
Yep, still not ready.
